When I sat and talked to my day (part 2)
When my mother was with me in Sweden between 2020 and 2021, we did two things almost everyday - talking about life, and spending time together while doing long afternoon walks. Mom used to say - look, you people in Europe can accomplish many things during the day and the reason for that is the favourable weather and access to a car that you own.
I cannot comment much on the weather nowadays! After she had left me in 2023, the world has seen more wars, and more extreme weather conditions. However, on the other front, which is the aspect of owning a vehicle, I can agree fully. Today proves the point somewhat. I do not even know how many tasks I managed to accomplish today, only thanks to the hired Volkswagen car I got here at Ingolstadt.Ok but lets switch back a bit to the early morning. In the new house which I have rented since a few months, I am blessed to wake up with chirping of birds and a smiling greenery covering the entire periphery of the house. After a nice early breakfast, it was a couple of meetings. As many of them who are close to me know, I am still deeply connected to India - thereby I meet some friends over telephone calls over the weekend.
After the calls, it was a pursuit to get a hold of a new car. Once I had it, I could go to several places - among others, a big shopping mall called Westpark, and the century old Danube river. It was hot with maximum touching 28 degrees at some point. But it was not sultry, there was a gentle breeze flowing all day.
At Westpark, I met with a barber and he helped me tune up. A few words have been borrowed into German language - Barber Shop is one, others being Handy (mobile telephone that is) and Fitness Studio. There are more, but these are now coming to my mind.
At Westpark. I had my lunch. A tiny one, but it was tasty. An Italian one and therefore very pleasing to the eyes.
The dish was a simple chicken wrap. But it depends on how you make it. Mom used to say - in order to be a good cook, you must be a foody first! Indeed, the people of Bayern love their food and indeed that is why I love Bayern. The bread was soft and the mix of vegetables were so well married to the chicken that one wonders - is it really that marriages are only made in heaven. Pladina Fattoria - as the Menu card says!
After the lunch, a small shopping spree to buy some T-Shirts. Here in Ingolstadt, New Yorker is usually good - with affordable price and good design. The stores of this shop exists elsewhere too - like in Sweden!
Back to home and then Fitness Studio. In between there was some football catch up. Let me write more about the world cup tomorrow.
Signing off now!
