“Yeh lo main haari piya…” – A very soulful Geeta Dutt number from the film “Aar Paar” is another great composition by O P Nayyar. The best thing about this song is how well the simple words are conveyed through a music that has minimal orchestration and a blissful interlude tune. The flow of the tune has a charismatic naughty and fresh feel; if you have a bad mood, just listen to this song and you will feel better. A guarantee for sure!

"Pritam aan milo..." - There is a long story associated with this song which is interesting too! Originally composed for C H Atma, this is a fantastic song with a haunting tune in a very natural O P style. For someone who wants to sing this on harmonium finds it as a simply-designed tune with notes structured in almost a mathematical pattern. Coming to the famous story associated with this song - when Nayyar-sahab came to Bombay for the first time he had to struggle a lot. He met C H Atma and composed the tune for this song. After this incident he left Bombay and was paid a meager amount for composing this song. Later on, when he came back to the city it took no time for him to find out that this song had become a huge hit. In those days of no royalties, he could not get his real due. Much later for Mr and Mrs 55, he used Geeta Dutt's voice for this soulful number and it was sheer magic once again!

"Gharib janke..." - This is a song from a film called "Chhoo Mantar" starring Johny Walker, Anita Guha. This film was released in 1956. Riding on the success on Mr and Mrs 55, Mohd Rafi sings a solo for Johny Walker. Astute acting on screen by the legendary comedian, all the perfect vibes expressed by Rafi make this is a memorable gem with brilliant interlude tunes.

"Tu hai mera prem devata..." - This is a cult song and a very different one by O P Nayyar. Created for the film "Kalpana". Now there is a small anecdote once again for this song. Once I was listening to an interview by the legendary Manna Dey who is one of the singers here together with Rafi. Manna Dey mentioned that he was getting edgy and eager to work with O P because he liked his music very much. But unfortunately, till "Kalpana" happened there was no invitation coming in from Nayyar sahab. The invitation did come and it was for this brilliant semi-classical dance number. This is one of the best male duets ever produced for Hindi films and no one is a clear winner when it comes to the performance. On one hand there is Nayyar sahab, his tune, his melody, his composition and on the other there is Manna-Rafi in their classy best. This is a big time favorite song for generations of music lovers!
